Portrait of a character I created, called The Paperboy. Was inspired by comic book (cover) art and 1920s newsboys and mobsters. Put a large red handprint over his face symbolizing his passion for statements, stealing, and violence. Layered line-work, brush strokes, paint splatters and a variety of visual textures to create interest, detail, and dimension. Focused on contrast between character and red handprint.
